Route 66

The Historic Route 66. What can we say? This is a truly unforgettable experience. Route 66 on its own brings out the nostalgia in people. We have been able to incorporate Route 66 into a couple of our tours as an added feature. For our Sin City to Sea tour, we travel parts of Route 66 that take you through California on your way back to Las Vegas.

During the Route 66 / Grand Canyon tour, we stop off at all the major attractions along the way. This tour begins in Las Vegas where we spend the first night of your vacation with a nice welcome dinner, Here you will get a chance to meet your fellow riders. These will be the people that will be closest to you during your 14 day adventure. The night typically goes late so come prepared to let loose and enjoy. The next morning, we begin by picking our bikes, enjoying a nice breakfast while laughing at the antics from the night before and then we hit the road. We head out towards the west and the California coast. We spend the day making our way to Los Angeles, the city of light and movie stars. Along the way to Los Angeles we will stop at an authentic mining ghost town and an old western town that the world has forgotten about. When we arrive in Los Angeles, you will be able to explore all the famous areas like Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive and Hollywood Blvd. Take in a movie at Groman's Chinese Theater or walk the "Walk of Stars" and find your favorite movie star. We will spend 2 days in L.A. enjoying the sites before heading out from the Santa Monica Pier along Historic Route 66 towards Arizona. Route 66 in California will have us stop at the major historic locations such as:

SANTA MONICA -- We'll start at the Santa Monica Pier where the old road ends or begins! We will visit the Bell-Vue Restaurant from the 1930s and the Will Rogers Plaque in Palisades Park
LOS ANGELES -- The Hollywood Sign and Automotive Museum
MONROVIA -- The Aztec Motel from the 1920's and ride up Foothill Blvd.
PASADENA -- Home of the Mother Goose Pantry restaurant in a shoe
SAN BERNARDINO -- The first McDonald's on "E" Street
VICTORVILLE -- California Route 66 Museum
BARSTOW -- Route 66 visitor center and the El Rancho Motel
DAGGETT -- Old Stone Hotel on SantaFe Street
NEWBERRY SPRINGS -- Bagdad Cafe
LUDLOW -- Ludlow Mercantile / Murphy Brothers Building
AMBOY -- Roy's Cafe from the late 1930's
GOFFS -- Old General Store and School from the early 1900's
NEEDLES -- The Palm Motel and the El Garces Depot

Once we cross the Arizona border, we will enter into some of the largest stretches of Route 66 still in tact today. In Arizona you will see:

TOPROCK -- old Route 66 Bridge over the Colorado River (not used for traffic anymore)
OATMAN -- The Oatman Hotel
KINGMAN -- Route 66 Museum Courthouse, Cool Springs Ruins and the Beale Hotel
HACKBERRY -- Old General Store and Visitors Center
PEACH SPRINGS -- East of Peach Springs you can see a glimpse of the Grand Canyon
SELIGMAN -- Snow Cap Drive in Restaurant
ASH FORK -- Partridge Creek Petroglyphs
WILLIAMS -- Home of the Grand Canyon Railway Depot
FLAGSTAFF -- Grand Canyon Cafe, Route 66 Motel
TWO GUNS -- Canyon Diablo and the Apache Death Cave
METEOR CRATER -- Meteor Crater.....

We then head north into the south rim of the Grand Canyon. This is a spectacular stop where we will take enough time for you to fully enjoy the Nation Park and all its splendor.

The ride for the South Rim to the North Rim of the canyon will take us across the Navajo Bridge and the Vermilion Cliffs, through Lees Ferry and Jacob Lake. The sites you will experience cannot be described in words. The pictures don't do it justice but you WILL have your breath taken away by what you will experience. The North Rim will welcome us with a family owned Inn where you will get home cooked meals and conversation and stories from people that have spent the entire lives living on the Canyon. Each tour experiences new wonders and adventures. The North Rim of the Canyon is not as traveled as the South Rim and therefore poses a more sense of adventure. The crowds are non existent and the roads leading to the North Rim are spectacular. Due to the high elevation, cooler temperatures are the norm so make sure you bring the appropriate riding gear.

Once we leave the North Rim we continue North West into Zion National Park and Bryce National Park. Just when you think you've seen it all, these two parks will surprise you once again.

By this time we are well into our second week and almost 2000miles of unbelievable terrain has been covered. We'll make our way back into Las Vegas for our last 2 days together. You will have a chance to either ride some more on your own around the Vegas area or explore the sights and sounds of Sin City. The days can easily be filled with casino adventures, shopping or sight seeing and the evenings are perfect for night club adventures, fine dinning or indulging in pretty much any desire you might have.

We look forward to creating new stories and life long memories with you. So if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us and get signed on to the Route 66 / Grand Canyon Tour of a lifetime!!!
